Musician in the Rain by Robert Doisneau
A pretty young lass, she is,
My missy all of six years old,
A charming, and elegant royalty,
Resembling no less, her highness;
a princess of novelty…
After school, she passes by this way,
At sight of me, she halts her carriage everyday,
Her expectant wide eyes, looks up at me for the magic,
To weave Bach, Beethoven, in this deserted side-street…
She is my only loyal customer, I know,
Never fails to show up; I so adore,
Yes, even in the rain; hail, snow or storm,
I shall bear all and patiently wait,
Cos’ I only play for my Little Missy’.
