Neena sat shocked at the news that greeted her.
Her younger sister Naima, lost the battle of cancer that she was fighting last few months. At such young age, to be struck with leukemia was heart breaking.
The family put up a brave face, but died inside everyday watching Naima’s deteriorating condition.
“Can’t believe she is no longer with us,” Neena said in anguish.
Her mother held and comforted her, her own eyes wet with silent tears.
“What about Naima’s friends?” Neena ran to the bowl of coloured pet fishes that Naima talked to everyday.
They too cried silent tears.

DeleteTouching and deftly delivered. I feel Neena's loss, and take comfort in that she thinks of her sister's friends.
