WHAT LAY BENEATH

'What's that Jiya?' Seeri asked excitedly, as she spotted an unusual looking construct at the back of Jiya's house. 'Is that a pond?'

'Yea, frozen now,' Jiya replied, somewhat hesitant... instead tried to divert Seeri's attention, 'See those mountains over there, we get great views from here.'

Seeri dragged her eyes from the strange looking pond and went over to where Jiya stood, her mind still lingering at the pond, why Jiya didn't want to speak much about it, she wondered.

Jiya, meanwhile, was glad she diverted Seeri's attention, she could not disclose what lay beneath - secret, only she knew.
