SKYWATCH FRIDAY - BLOOD MOON IN EVENING SKIES JUST AFTER 14TH MARCH TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE..MOON GONE RED!

Music played loud in my neighbourhood till late into the night. It was Holi evening and the celebrations hadn't stopped. I gazed out my balcony into the dark night. The lights in people's homes had not gone off yet. They too were awake what with loud music playing everywhere. And then, I spotted it. No, it was not a neighbour's house light; nor, any street light. It was far in the horizon popping up those faraway hills, behind those tall palm tree leaves. It was not static. Every second, it seemed to move up. Was it some satellite or an alien space-ship? It was huge! And, it was red! Blood Red. No, it couldnot be the sun. The sun had already said bye bye for the day almost four hours ago. It could not be Mars too, although, it was the only 'red' planet or celestial object known. And, it was so huge, unbelievably so. The moon? How can it be the moon? The moon was always white with those grey crater patches. And, it was far smaller. This red ball was so huge, a giant infact; and, so close to earth too! As it kept moving up, I grabbed my phone to capture it. It was an amazing sight, my phone's camera simply donot do justice ( plus, it goes kinda blind after dark :s ) . Those who saw it with their own eyes will understand what I mean. The pictures below look similar to one another, but, if you notice closely that red ball is moving up few cms every few second - in real, it must be hundreds of kms distance :s A quick google search told me that it was indeed the Moon, and it was the Red Moon; a phenomenon that happened after a full moon total lunar exclipse, where earth's passing shadow cast those reddish hues as sun's light gets somewhat blocked. Oh...my...it was so amazing. Soak in the glory of Blood Moon, folks!

a small video of the same - and yea, that was the loud music I was talking abat :|

MERRY CHRISTMAS UNDER WINTRY SKIES

HO...HO..HO...

Its that time of the year when its cold and cozy, the christmas season - my all time favourite simply because it brings so many memories of my school days when I used to wait for christmas eagerly because on that day, we'd get packets of chocolates and toffees from the nuns/sisters in our school. I used to love it and always looked forward to the special day. Of course, christmas is much more than getting chocolates and gifts, but, its majorly known for that. And I have no complaints :-) Here's wishing everyone a \ 'Merry Christmas'/ Sharing some christmas pictures from this corner of the world :-)

SKYWATCH FRIDAY - MY INSATIABLE LOVE FOR THE SEAS

@juhu beach throughout the years...
SKYWATCH FRIDAYSKYWATCH FRIDAY
sky's watching the beach change its characteristics...

Blast from the past...digging some old dusty album
pic quality deteriorating over time; however, the memories stay intact..
SKYWATCH FRIDAYSKYWATCH FRIDAY

At thirteen, a child on the brink of being a teen,
in love at first glance I fell with the sea never before seen...

SKYWATCH FRIDAYSKYWATCH FRIDAY

A young woman now, at twenty,
those sands on my feet getting me giddy...

SKYWATCH FRIDAY

At thirty and beyond, remains a love insatiated,
a mere glimpse of seas still gets me excited...
the skies above has been my forever witness...
( and no, am not revealing my age ;-)

Are you sea or a mountain person..?
