Wanting to move to the big city with glitzy dreams in her eyes, she hoped she'd be a star some day.
She was envious of her classmate who had made a similar move.
One day, she just decided to run away and make it big, so, she dropped out of college.
In the big city though, reality hit...and hit hard; she was homeless and had no money, surviving became a challenge.
She regretted her choice, but, didn't have the courage to face her folks back home.
To make ends meet, she started standing behind counter of a souvenir shop.
The notion that you can have anything as long as you really, really want it is a stupid and pernicious dream

ReplyDeleteI have a feeling things will work out well for this lady - she took a chance and was willing to leave security - that hints at her grit and strength - and maybe good things will come from working at this humble place.
ReplyDeleteNandini, she's on one of those learning adventures :) Now, she may realize she enjoys selling souvenirs. Or she realizes she hates selling them. Either way will lead onto the next adventure. Good story!
