WHEN REALITY HIT!

Wanting to move to the big city with glitzy dreams in her eyes, she hoped she'd be a star some day.

She was envious of her classmate who had made a similar move.

One day, she just decided to run away and make it big, so, she dropped out of college.

In the big city though, reality hit...and hit hard; she was homeless and had no money, surviving became a challenge.

She regretted her choice, but, didn't have the courage to face her folks back home.

To make ends meet, she started standing behind counter of a souvenir shop.

  1. The notion that you can have anything as long as you really, really want it is a stupid and pernicious dream

  3. I have a feeling things will work out well for this lady - she took a chance and was willing to leave security - that hints at her grit and strength - and maybe good things will come from working at this humble place.

  4. Nandini, she's on one of those learning adventures :) Now, she may realize she enjoys selling souvenirs. Or she realizes she hates selling them. Either way will lead onto the next adventure. Good story!

I hope she survives, but at the end of the day she finds the courage to go back home. It is a sad but often true tale.

Creative take on the prompt. Ending up working in a shop isn’t so bad, she’ll make it fine. - thisobsurelife (Michele)

All things considered, it could've turned out a lot worse.
