THE BLACK BEACH

'Forbidden after sun-set' the sign read, at the infamous 'black' beach.

The beach was once a cremation ground where villagers burnt their dead. Their ashes, over time, got mixed with the sand ~ thus, its colour.

I stood looking, it looked like any other beach - with tourists, vendors etc...but as evening approached, the guard whistled and chased everyone out.

I hid behind a shack, and waited, until it had gone quiet and dark. I wanted to see if the haunted rumours were true.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed my shoulder.

Ghost?

No, it was the guard - he found me out.

  2. I loved the notion of the black sand. I wonder why the beach is forbidden after dark.

Are there beaches like that? A scary thought.
Your character seems very brave to have done what they did.
