The hideout-cabin smelt of rotten-dead. Their suspicion came true when they discovered several decomposed bodies; his victim’s, with wet-sticky substance oozing out of them. The sickening-sight made Clara almost puke.
But, inspector on duty, holding the mask over her nose tight, she went ahead discovering the butchered-bodies!
He was dead now, but she remembered him when he was a little boy. Neighbours, they used to hunt caterpillars together. “I like to see them rot,” he used to say, with a sadist smile then.
Sad, he extended his hobby to humans; Clara felt a tear trickle down the corner of her eyes.

ReplyDeleteNandini, Good and well-written story. Children like that scare me. They need help, but parents are often in denial. ---Susan
