When I was a child, during travels, I used to wonder what those round shaped things were, that were stuck on walls of every rural home. I got to know that they were cow-dung cakes. I naturally used to go eeww! What a thing to decorate in front of your homes.

Much later, I realized that though these people are poor – they are genius. While the world is contemplating in recent times about various forms of bio-fuel, these poor people of rural India were already much ahead of their times.

They use the dried cow-dung as fuel for almost all their needs, including cooking. And yes, the fuel is free!! Aren’t they smart?
