Poet's Sleep, 1989, by Chang Houg Ahn
Hey Poet, Don’t sleep!
You’ve tones of stories to weave;
Magical and rhythmic.
Cos’ if you sleep,
They’ll throw stones;
Make you weep.
Those sculls are real!
They’re characters of poems,
You’ve weaved!

The skulls are real and characters of poems.........
ReplyDeleteWhat an in-depth thinking , Nandini.
For every poet his characters are real... And they might die and turn into skulls of dead if not nurtured. Beautiful write.

DeleteI do believe he had someone come in and open the window for air, so he could stay awake!
