I may not be rich or have an exhibition,
In the posh, downtown art gallery,
But my craze for colors is strong,
As is witnessed by all, those in vicinity!
Legal, illegal, I know not,
Nor do I care,
For me splashing colors,
Is, all that matters!
Each day on a new slab of wall,
I create my own masterpiece,
Passer-byes stop and stare, awed,
I’m their roadside Leonardo Vinci.
smiles...nice play on the graffiti...it is def a passion....some cities have really embraced it as well...which is really cool...one nearby has designated an area for them to paint....which is very cool
ReplyDeletethanks lot @Brian...am glad they are getting a specially designated area for them...thats too cool
DeleteWe have a free speach wall in a nearby town. Sometimes I just stop in stare in awe at what some artists put up.
ReplyDeletethats great @Nara
DeleteA recent trip to Malaga, Spain opened my eyes to the beauty of street art/graffiti. Your poem is a lovely tribute to those who mean to embrace, not deface.

DeleteI love art on walls, its a freedom to express and shouldn't be curbed plus a spray painted wall looks better than one filled with spit marks and lousy posters.

DeleteProper street art is as amazing as it gets. Some of the street graffiti which I view on the internet deserves to be in the famous art galleries. It is a shame that this art is considered illegal. Can art really be illegal?
ReplyDeleteNice poem. :)
