His life as a tree was so much better, live free in the wild, grow tall not be answerable to anyone.
He wondered about humans, how horrible their life was - almost machine like; obsessed with making money.
And here he was, free with nothing to do while nature took care of everything; infact, he was nature himself.
He could enjoy his time out in the open and relax.
But no, there was those noisy humans again, don't come near me, he thought furious.
'Splash', some kids ran having spilt onto him colors whilst playing; grrr... those humans, little demons!

No such thing as peace.
ReplyDeleteYup :-(
DeleteThe tree is lucky it is only paint and not a saw...
ReplyDeletehope that doesn't come
DeletePut me in mind of the ancient Druids and their sacred Oaks. Excellent take all the way around!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading
DeleteHumans! Pah! Never mind, they'll be gone soon
ReplyDelete:D
DeleteIf trees really were sentient, they'd be among the most patient creatures anywhere--and perhaps the most fearful!
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteDear Nandini,
ReplyDeleteDemons indeed. The next thing you know they'll take an ax to him. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks @Rochelle
DeleteNever trust a species that fancies itself as the pinnacle of creation.
ReplyDeleteTrue!
DeleteWe come and go, trees remain - provided we leave them in peace.
ReplyDeleteOh well...
DeleteI'm inclined to agree with the tree - as I've said on my own post, I prefer my trees paint-free

ReplyDeleteSome people just don't know to leave well enough alone, do they.
ReplyDeleteNandini, a tree is a perfect life form, but it being anchored to the ground makes it difficult to avoid idiots that approach. I like how you spun your story from the image.
ReplyDeleteTo be a tree and encounter humans: a horror story. First deer nibble at your shoots, then bears and other animals scratch themselves on your bark, then some canines piss on you and then comes the chain saw...
ReplyDeleteThere's the downside to being a tree. He can't hide or run away when the little heathens come for him.
