Petergate, with a view of York Minster, York, UK photo by Tess Kincaid
I walk this lane everyday,
People pass by;
but, none at me stare.
With my own eyes, I had seen
these buildings built,
although it was ago,
couple of centuries.
I've seen things change so,
from good ol' days to present,
Noticed, people's character fluctuate,
from innocence to connivance.
Things go on as it always did,
I just soak it all, in spirit.

Sometimes it's all we can do. I'd love to walk those streets from within York as well! It looks so interesting.
ReplyDeleteOh I was thinking maybe a ghost..different and I liked it!! I'd take the attention away from stare (your formatting) because you give away the end which is really clever! Spirit can be taken more than one way huh? Enjoyed! ♥
ReplyDeleteThis alley is a minor deity , no question !
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the Japanese concept of kami and how some places soak up a spirit of their own. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteSoaking in, wrapping and unwrapping the numerous gifts amassed in the cruise of life, is the simple yet so insightful lesson.....Beautifully penned!
ReplyDeletethanks a lot everyone :-)
