As she changed her clothes, powdered her nose, put on the make-up, Nadia always felt someone watching her. This particular green-room at the back of the theatre, where she performed had this old mirror.
Rumours were rampant that it was haunted. Often sounds of whistles, chuckles and giggles were heard in the vicinity, though there’d be no one around. At times snorts too, as though someone is disapproving of a particular look. Nadia, scared but acting-brave, carried on her daily make-up ritual before her performances.
Until, one day she spotted the culprits herself. Neighbourhood kids playing pranks, behind the window.

Dear Nandini,

Shalom,
Rochelle
thanks @Rochelle, loved the prompt :-)
DeleteFun. Very readable. Kind of unnerving, too, in that one spot.
ReplyDeleteRight out of Scooby Doo. That was fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief! Nice twist.

kids and their pranks :D Good one!
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteThank heavens for that.
ReplyDeleteNandini, It could have been worse. At least there were no ghosts. Well written. : ) ---Susan
ReplyDeleteDang kids. :) She should set up a prank for them next and really scare them.
ReplyDeleteKids... always messing with you.... I like the thought of a haunted mirror, though. Phantom of the Opera type drama!
ReplyDeletegood to know just youngsters playing tricks...better than something sinister and creepy.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for pranks from teenagers! This is a better scenario than ghosts!
ReplyDeleteNan :)
