Yell Sound, Shetland, 2014, by R.A.D. Stainforth
It appears everyday, they say,
At those certain times of the day,
Early dawn or twilight of dusk,
When skies and oceans, turn shades of grey.
The ship comes sailing, grandly,
Filled with passengers happy,
Laughter and cheers that is heard,
Miles and miles around echoed.
The elites, engrossed in their games of cards,
Wines and exotic cabaret dance,
The Sailor too, drunk, doesn't see,
The approaching huge Ice-berg.
The gaping hole at bottom of the ship,
Caused by crushing of rocks beneath,
Sends the ship spiraling down,
Sinking, layers of water's underneath.
The next day, the ship comes sailing again,
Filled with its usual crowd,
The Sailor smirks as he sees the ice-berg,
Approaching, but, he simply shrugs.
A Ghost-Ship now, it is its daily routine,
To replay everyday, its accident scene,
Yes, they're right, it appears everyday,
At those certain times of the day...
