THOSE SUNDAY BAZAAR TRIPS

Still vivid are those fond memories,
Of days gone by at such jet-speed,
Myself, was then a young kid,
Behind momma’s dress, I’d hid,
Dragging slowly my tiny feet,
As she bought the groceries,
Marching through crowded streets,
Those Sunday Bazaar trips...

She’d stop at every shop and bargain,
Till sweat'd trickle down shop-owner’s temple,
I learnt the tricks, thus, quite early,
How to spend less and get many,
So fun were those times spent,
Those Sunday Bazaar Trips...

I’d often get so distracted,
Those luscious fruits would have me tempted,
Teasing me through the window panes,
Beckoning me to run and grab them,
I’d realize my momma has gone far ahead,
Still, those ripe oranges would hold my stare,
Till momma found me I’d stay so transfixed,
Ah'nostalgic, those Sunday Bazaar Trips...

  3. It seems like only yesterday I was clutching the side of the cart and dreaming about the day when I'd be old enough to stay home while my mom went to the grocery store... now that I am an adult sometimes I'll do my grocery trip when she does because I like it!
