“Oh darling, I’m so happy! I can barely wait,” Joan said excitedly, pulling her husband near. It was their wedding night.
“Wait honey, be right back,” Tom removed her hands from around his neck and walked to the bar.
“What are you doing?” Joan came after him, eyeing narrowly as he made a drink. “We already drank didn’t we?”
“It’s not for us. It’s for her,” Tom said, placing a drink by the picture of his late wife. Joan was puzzled, didn’t understand.
“She needs a drink every evening, or else throws a tantrum whole night. She is still around.”

DeletePoor Joan. Time to take affirmative action.
ReplyDeletethanks for reading :-)
DeleteWell written and creepy. I don't think she really got to know him well enough. It looks like she'll be repenting in leisure. She might end up drinking heavily right along with the ghost of the first wife.
ReplyDeletehaha...that'd be cool =))
DeleteDear Nandini,
ReplyDeleteI fear that Joan will regret her decision to marry him. Good one.
shalom,
Rochelle
thanks @Rochelle :-)
DeleteReally cute - I wonder if he told her he had just been released from a specialty hospital? Thanks for the entertainment! Nan
