“Yes, Nathan is no more. Its better you accept this truth now,” Mariam’s mother tried to console her.
When Nathan’s accident news first came, Mariam ( his fiancée ) was uncontrollable. He had slipped off the very rocks – he, as a rock-climber loved to leave his footprints upon. One loose stone gave away, with him falling off the thousand feet cliff.
That night Mariam woke upto to sounds of foot-steps. She peeked outside the window, there was no-one.
In morning, she was shocked to find Nathan’s rock-climbing shoes outside her door. They were the same shoes he had died with.

heya...thanks for reading :-)
DeleteSince my first romance writing endeavor is a YA Paranormal/Time Travel/First Kiss romance novel entitled "I Kissed a Ghost" and my WIP is a Contemporary romance novel with a paranormal element running through parts of the storyline, I can't deny the paranormal nature of your FF here. Who/what else but Nathan's ghost could have left his boots outside her. Did he leave it for Mariam to have something to remember him by or did he leave it as a sign that he'll always will be near her, Nice work !!!
ReplyDeleteHave a GREAT SUNDAY !!! :-) :-) :-)
Would love to read your comment regarding my first response for this site [ #80 / #81 ]

DeleteDear Nandini,
ReplyDeleteIf I were Mariam I'd be hiding under my bed. Good one.

Rochelle

DeleteI can't get the comment section to take my comment, so I'll tag onto Rochelle's. I think I'd not look out the window if I heard the footsteps again. I'd be with Rochelle under the bed. I'm wondering if you meant "inconsolable" rather than "uncontrollable?"
