The night was young,
As I sat, drowned in my last drink,
The DJ played that soulful song,
Its blues brought in, gusts of thoughts along.
What is it about October,
That makes me so pensive,
I try hard to brush away the memories,
That my mind forever weaves.
I go into a recluse,
In my own dark gallows,
More I try to hide my pain,
More the gleaming blisters shows.
What is it about October,
That I question my existence,
Born in a month when all leaves fall,
There ain't been any joy that I can recall.
Painful childhood,
Parents split in autumn,
Lonely days,
No one to call my own.
That's how my life's been, in tatters,
Cos' it all happened in October.
A shred of hope, when her eyes met mine,
Briefly, in the month of spring,
But soon my heart like autumn leaves withered,
When she too left, for some other.
There's nothing about October,
That I truely like or will ever,
Yet, it comes and comes, yet again,
Unstoppable and haunting forever.
Oh what a sad poem. I hope something good happens this October!

DeleteBlues like this need a strong musical back-up. I can almost hear a wailing sax behind these words ... string emotion in your piece...
