The journey was long,
My spirits bleak,
The dry desert road,
Left my lips parched, body weak...
To drive on, my mind urged,
Slow down, my body begged,
Near my heart, was a bloody gun-shot wound,
My life any moment, take, it could...
Not a soul or water-well around,
Risky it was to halt for any second,
To hurry and pass by that place,
Made for better sense,
It was now a matter of life and death,
I had to reach fast, the other end.
Raw and real...nice write...
