THE PATH

She looked longingly over those wooden gates,
As the other side had her totally impressed,
Inviting into greenery and the mesmerizing hills,
Picture perfect it was, resembling the heavens.
She wanted to tread into the path, that was so alluring,
Getting lost in nature’s lap; and straying whimsical,
Something stopped her, as she started to go,
Warning as though, it was a no-entry zone,
That path was after-life, and only for the dead,
She had to wait, her time hadn’t come yet.
