THE FAMILY OUTING

Martha, Bretthy, Agatha,
hurry, we're getting late,
The carriage has already arrived,
and is waiting at the gate.

As the elders,
called out to their siblings,
the trio still stood,
at their dresser, giggling.
They all wanted to look,
their very best,
in front of the mirror, they posed,
self-impressed.

As the call came again,
this time more loud and urgent,
The trio had no choice,
but to join, the rest.

Finally, they were all set
ready to go for their outing,
Mid-way in their journey though,
the wheel skid, setting them rolling.
They rolled down the steep hill,
bruised and battered,
By the time they reached the bottom,
their lives for the heavens, hath departed.

Martha, Bretthy, Agatha,
hurry, we're getting late,
The scene still in residual,
Hauntingly repeats!

  4. Oh dear what a sad tale. The ‘late' Matha, Brett and Agatha memorialised in a poem; very fitting.
