HAPPY VALENTINES

She lived barely few steps away from his home, yet, the distance between their hearts was so long.
Ever since their teens, his hearts’ been beating for her – his first crush, how would he ever tell her?

He watched as other men came to pick her up on dates; he thought, maybe it was all just too late.
His feelings, he wanted to blurt out so; but, his incapacity held him back trapped.

Strapped to his wheelchair, he could only helplessly gaze, everyday from his balcony ~ his beautiful lady love.
Scribbled notes he, happy valentine’s ~ ones, she never read!

How sad! I like the idea of the longing from the porch and the feeling of being trapped. Though this is a love story, I'm reminded of Boo Radley.
