ABANDONED

“Nobody comes to pick it. It’s been parked there last three weeks now,” Sandra looked out of the window and frowned at the truck that stood abandoned, with creepers growing around it.

“Think we should complain to the authorities?” Her husband asked.
“I think we should check it first, there may be some clues to whom it belongs.”

The couple went outside and decided to break in. Weird pungent odor was coming from inside the truck.

“See this, Richard!” Sandra shrieked as she saw a gunny-sack at the back.
A mutilated corpse of a girl lay; raped, murdered and abandoned.

Very likely a true story in war torn areas of the world, not to mention the occasional crime story here in the U.S.

Dear Nandini, I read your note below about 'Copycats' from Google Search - does that really happen? How would or could you find out? Just curious and I guess there really are some sneaky people out there. Thanks for the heads-up! Nan again :)

  6. Nandini, That's horrible, but possible in many parts of the world. I read in the paper that a man's body lie on the street right in from of a police station here for some days, and nothing was done until someone came into the station to report it. The police then had to take action. Hard to believe. Well witten. ---Susan

  7. Dear Nandini,

Not something anyone wants to find. True to life. Nicely done.
