THE LAMP

Copyright – Dawn M. Miller

“These lamps are awesome. Will take that one with the big shade! It’ll suit our bedroom, won’t it Derek?” Tia looked excitedly around the antique shop.

“Ma’am, that one has a discount in it too,” the shopkeeper gave a crooked smile.
“Oh! Derek! I love it so much.” Derek had no choice but to pay for it.

The shopkeeper hurriedly counted the money and packed it. He got rid of it atlast. The lamp had been giving him creepy nightmares ever since it arrived at his shop.

As it travelled with the couple, the lamp eerily laughed. It was haunted.

That's creepy. I'm going to check all my lamps now. Hope none are haunted. Nice one.

  4. I'm wondering how you deal with a haunted lamp and if you rub it, does a ghost or ghoulie come out? :-) I'm wondering if at the beginning of your second sentence you want "We'll" rather than "Will.:

    Nandini,
Great ending. Sounds like that's a lamp for the guest bedroom. :)

Creepy, although I feel as though I missed something in the lead up. This looks like the beginning of something longer that would be a fun read.

    All my best,
